The Will of William Bond

 

I William Bond of the Inner Temple Barrister at Law do make this my last will & testament in manner following I give to Hester Rice the sum of ten pounds I give to my laundress whoever she may be at the time of my decease the sum of five pounds over and above what may be due to her for wages I give to my clerk whoever he may be at the time of my decease the sum of five pounds over and above what may be due to him for wages I give to the poor of the parish of Tyneham the sum of ten pounds I give to the Mendicity Society in London the sum of five pounds All the residue of my money whether in the Public ffunds or elsewhere (after the payment of my just debts funeral expences & the charge of proving this my will) I give and bequeath to my brothers and sisters equally to be divided between them I give to my father Gainsborough’s descent from the Cross Wilkie’s rent day and my onyx shirt buttons I give to my mother my engraving of two children in a black house my cornelian scorabeens set as a seal in Shuttleworths the Bishop of Londons and Dan Mildert’s sermons in all five volumes wishing that both of them will accept these trifles as slight memorials of one who feels he can never repay the deep debt of gratitude and love he owes themI give unto my sister Jane my neva enamelled watch and gold guard chain I give to my siter Mary all my books of prints and books of botany and two small pictures a sea piece and a landscape by the same master I give to my Brother Henry Morelnad’s drawing of cows and Lodges portraits I give to my brother Thomas my Law Books and the furniture of my chambers in London I appoint my brother John the residuary legatee of this my last will and testament I give to my three brothers above named the remainder of my books not specifically bequeathed equally to be divided amongst them I hereby nominate and appoint my brother Thomas Bond the Executor of this my last will and testament Witness my hand this 10th day of December 1834 William Bond

Affidavit by Francis Manners of Pall Mall in the County of Middlesex esquire and Henry Utreck Goudhurst of New Inn in the County of Middlesex verifying signature of Testator sworn 12th January 1847
