The Will of Elizabeth Bland
This is the last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Bland Widow of James
Bland late of Harworth in the County of Durham Esq deceased I desire to
be buried at Harworth aforesaid as near to my late dear husband and son
as may be I hereby charge all my real and personal estates with the
payment of my debts legacies and funeral expences I give to Dorothy the
Wife of ffrancis Chapman Esq the sum of one hundred pounds I give to
Stephen Pybus formerly a servant in the family the Annuity I now pay him
of ten pounds a year during his life which I direct shall be paid him by
equal quarterly payments I give to each servant which shall be living
with me at the time of my death one year’s wages and ten pounds to each
servant for mourning I give ten pounds to the poor of Harworth to be
distributed at the discretion of my Executor and whereas in case of the
death of my dear daughter Barbara Wrightson under the age of twenty one
years without issue I am by writing and Codicil of my late husband
entitled to all such of my said husband’s estates as my said daughter or
her issue would be entitled unto under the said Will and Codicil I
hereby give devise and bequeath all and every the messuages lands
tenements hereditaments and premises and personal estate whatsoever and
all securities for money whatsoever given and devised by my said husband
as aforesaid and all my contingent or reversionary interest therein as
aforesaid and all my estate or effects whereof I am now seized or
possessed of or may hereafter become entitled to by any ways or means
whatsoever unto my son William Wrightson late William Wrightson Battie
Esq of Casworth in the County of York his Executors Administrators and
Assigns for his sole use and benefit and I do hereby appoint the said
William Wrightson Battie sole Executor of this my last Will In Witness
whereof I the said Elizabeth Bland hath to this my last Will and
Testament set my hand and seal this twentieth day of May in the year one
thousand seven hundred and eighty one Elizabeth Bland
