The Will of Richard Blagrave

 

In the name of God Amen I Richard Blagrave of Bampton in the County of Oxon Currier weake in body but of perfect mind and memory (praised be God) Doe here make my last will and Testament the sixteenth day of November Anno Dm 1675 as followeth First I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker trusting most assuredly to be saved by the merits of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer And my body to be buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary when she cometh to the age of Twenty one yeares old Two Hundred and ffifty pounds of lawfull money of England One Gould Ring and a Silver Spoone Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth when she cometh to the age of Twenty one yeares old Two Hundred pounds of lawfull money of England a Silver Cupp and a Silver Spoon Item I give and bequeath unto my Sister Mary Southen ffower pounds a yeare And to be paid to her yearly dureing her life out of the Rent or proffitts of a Close lying in Ansume in the County of Oxon and called by the name of Berrys close Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne John All my free land whatsoever after my Wifes decease Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne John when he cometh to the age of Twenty three yeares ould the Sume of ffifty pounds of lawfull money of England one Gould Ring which hath a Seale one Silver Spoone marked with I.B. Item my will is that if it should happen That one of my daughters decease before she cometh to the age of Twenty one yeares ould Then her portion Shall remaine and be for the other Sister That is then living Item I give and bequeath unto my Brother in Law Robert Blagrave of Buckland my Silver Hatband and my worked buttons All the Rest of my goods and Chattells unbequeathed My debts and ffunerall expences being paid and performed I give and bequeath unto my Loveing wife Joane Blagrave whom I make whole Executor of this my last Will And my Overseers I doe nominate and desire to be my Brother in Law Robert Blagrave of Buckland and my neighbour Thomas Hale of Bampton And I doe give them Tenn Shillings betweene them for their paines In Witnes/ These were declared and desired by the said Rich: Blagrave to be in the presence of mee Tompson ffox
