In the Name of God Amen I GEORGE BLADES of
Stamford in the County of Lincoln labourer beeing sicke and weake in
body but of perfect mind and memory praise bee God doe make this my
Last Will and Testament revoaking all former wills by me made
Imprimis I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hopeing to
be saved by the merritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer and
commit my body to the earth and as for What estate God hath been
pleased to lend me I dispose of the same as followeth Imprimis I
give and bequeath unto my beloved wife MARY BLADES and her heirs all
and singular my messuage and tenement with appurtenances in Spring
End in Swaledale in the County of York also the cloases ...?[crease
in page] arable land with all common proffitts one hundreth and
appurtenances thereunto appertaining as the same are situate and
lying and being dispered?..... [crease in page] within the towne
fields and precincts of Spring End aforesaid as the same are note in
the possession of ANNE BLADES widow and MARK BRATHERICK or either of
them .... and the revertion and remainders thereof upon condition
following vizt my mind and will is that the said messuage or
tenement closes lands and tenements with their appurtenances... be
sold as soon as the same can be conveniently done to the best
advantage and my debts to be first payd and discharged and that
after the same be soe payd and discharged my will is that the
remainder of what the same are sold for after payment of my debts
shall be equally distributed amongst my wife and five children share
and share alike ?novit? JAMES BLADES, GEORGE BLADES, JOHN BLADES,
RICHARD BLADES and WILLIAM BLADES and in case any of my children dy
to be equally divided amongst the survivors of them as to all my
personal estate I give and bequeath the same to my said wife MARY
whome I make my Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament In
Witness whereof I have hereby set my hand and seal this 20 November
