neenetinth daie of December in the foretinth yeare of the kings
majestys raigne over England, Fmirr and Ireland 1616 I William
Blackburn (Blakeborne) of Newton in Makerfeild in the Countie of
Lancaster yeoman Sicke in body but of goode and p’fect memories
laude and praise be unto almightie god doe make and ordeigne
this my p’rsent Testament & last will in mann’r and forme
followinge That is to saie first and above all things I Commend
my Soule into the mercifull custodie of my lord and saviour
Jesus Christ Trusting through his blessed passion to be made one
of the elect number And when yt shall please hes devyne power
to seperat my BOdie and Soule Then I will that my bodie be
buried at my p’ishe Churche of Winwicke theire to rest until yt
please god to raise yt upp in the last daie and make yt
gloriouse And for the distribution of my wordlie things yt is
my will and mynde to have them bestowed in such mann’r and forme
as heireafter in theis p’sente is mentioned and expressed That
is I give unto my twoe sonnes Richard Blakeborne and Thomas
Blakeborne All my whoule goods Chattells and freeholds
whatsoever equallie to be devyded betweene them paying such
legacies as by mee in this my Test’ant and last will are given
and bequeshed It is also my will that Richard Blakeborne my
said sonne shall have this housse that is alreadie Assigned to
him And lykewyse the Sandie Maens And also that my saide sonne
Thomas shall have the house and ferme of ground called Thomas
Poules and the Houllers and also all the Timber stone and bricke
lyinge in the same ground or in Tarbucke p’ke And alsoe that
the saide Richard my Sonne shall paye to the said Thomas fortie
pounds Item I geve unto my daughter Elizabeth Blakeborne
Thirteene pounds six shillings eight pence yearelie for lyef
Item I geve unto my daught’r Alice one hundredth pounds to aryse
yearlie by twentie pounds a yeare to be paid by Roger Jameson
and Raffe Hasledon out of the land that was la… Roger Jamesons
of Ashton Item I geve my daughter Isabell Twentie poundes
yearlie during her lyef And that Chamber in the newe buildinge
that the dore oppenest towards the kilne And yf the saide
Isabell marry then she shall not have the said Chamber Or yf
the saide Isabell goe from home Then the owner of the housse
shall use the said Chamb’r as then shall have the neede Item I
geve unto my daught’r Anne fowerscore & ten pounds And to Raffe
Hasledon tenn pounds to be paid by the said Roger Jamesonn and
the said Raffe out of the land that was Roger Jameson’s of
Ashton Item I geve unto William Blakeborne Elizabeth and Anne
his Sisters everie one twentie shillings Item I geve unto
Richard Hasleden Jane and …… his sisters everie one twentie
shillings Item I geve unto James Shawe Robbe Whyte Olliver
Jacksonn Peter Forster and Anne Partington my servants everie
one of them tenn shillings Item I geve all that I am Godfather
unto three shillings fower pence And I ordeigne Constitute and
make the aforesaid Richard blakeborne and Thomas Blakeborne my
true and lawfull executors of this my Testament and last will to
execute fulfil and p’forme the same in all points and my trust
is in them above all others.
