In the Name of God Amen. I JOHN BLACKBEARD of
West Scrafton in the Parish of Coverham and County of York being of
sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will
and testament in manner and form following. I commend my soul unto
Almighty God and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried
at the discretion of my Executor herein after named, and as to my
temporal estate I dispose thereof as follows. I leave and bequeath
unto my daughter ELEANOR her Heirs and Assigns Executors and
Adminstrators the Sum of £100 also one bed with the bedding thereof
and curtains (which she chuses) Also four chairs , my round tea
table and better corner cupboard. Also a little garth or portion of
ground known by the name of Tesseys. I leave and bequeath to my
daughter ELIZABETH wife of JOHN GILL, her executors and
adminstrators the sum of £80. I leave and bequeath unto my son JOHN
BLACKBEARD (whom I appoint sole executor of this my last will and
testament) all my houses and lands and all and singular my Property
whatsoever (except what is mentioned above) I say to my son JOHN
BALCKBEARD his heirs and assigns and executors and adminstrators
forever he fulfilling or calling to be fulfilled this my last will
and paying my just debts and funeral expences and legacies before
mentioned.
Hereby revoking all other wills I pronounce
this to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal this 24th day of June 1828
signed sealed and published and declared by
the said John Blackbeard in the presence of us William Chapman,
Robert Horner, James Law.
