I William Bevill of Grays Inn born att
Chesterton, in Huntingdonshire. my bodie to be interred att
Chesterton aforesaid . I bequeath to the living members of
Christ my poore brethren one hundred and fowerscore poundes as
followeth. To the poore of Stamford in Lincolnshire, fourscore
poundes. To the poore of Peterborough fieftie poundes and to the
poore of Chesterton tenn poundes, to the poore of Morborne five
poundes, to the poore of Haddon five poundes, to the poore of
Alwalton five poundes, to the poore of Water-Newton five poundes,
to the poore of Sibson three poundes, to the poore of Stepmiston
forth shillings, to the poore of Elton five poundes, to the
poore of Yaxley tenn poundes.
To the Church of Chesterton one hundred
poundes for ornaments to the said Church together with better
perfecting my father’s monument therein. To Mr. Clement Rector
of the said Parishe twenty poundes.
To my brother Sir Robert Bevill of
Chesterton aforesaid fiefteene hundred poundes whereof he hath
already eight hundredth poundes in his hands. Also . . . my
whole adventure in Deeping fenn to the second son of the
said Sir Robert Bevill. A ring of twenty poundes to the lady
Bevill his wife.
To my sister Lady Hewett a ring of twenty
poundes.
To my sister Elmes, a ring of twenty
poundes. To my sister Lady Driden, a ring of twenty poundes. To
my God daughter Christian Elmes fivetie poundes. To my Aunt
