In the Name of God Amen I Richard Bevan of
the Township of Wilcox in the Parish of Great Ness and County of
Salop being sick and weak in body but sound and discerning in
Judgement and understanding do think it time to make my Will and
therefore do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in
form and manner following ffirst I leave my Body to be decently
buried at the care of my Executor herein after named hoping at
the Resurrection to have my Soul and Body happily united through
the Merits and Mediation of Jesus Christ my Saviour And as to
what Money and other Effects God has given me I devise and
dispose of in the form and manner following ffirst I give devise
and bequeath to my Aunt Dorothy Edwards ten Guineas of good and
lawful Money for her care of me in the following manner that is
to say five Guineas as soon as my Executor receives it and the
other five Guineas one year afterwards 2nd I give devise and
bequeath two Guineas to Ann Bevan of Great Ness Widow of Mr
Bevan late of Kinton to be paid her immediately after my decease
3rdly I give and bequeath to my Aunt Hannah Dewaston half a
Guinea 4thly My Watch I give and bequeath to William Bevan Son
of Gideon Bevan of Shrawardine intreating him to take some care
of my Aunt Dorothy Edwards for my sake. As to all the rest and
residue of my.... after my just Debts and ffuneral Expences are
paid I give devise and bequeath to be equally divided between my
two Brothers and Sister namely Thomas Bevan Robert Bevan and Ann
Lawrence the said Brother Thomas Bevan I appoint to be sole
Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I
hereunto set my hand and seal this 26 day of November 1777 The
