I Thomas Bentley of Blackrod in the County of Lancaster being of sound mind and memory, do make this my last will and testament in manner following. I order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses & probate of this my last will and testament be paid and discharged out of my property by my executors hereinafter named & I give and bequeath the whole of my property which amounts to the sum of one hundred pounds or thereabout, to my wife Susan Bentley for her own use. I further direct & order, that after her decease, the remainder of the said property whatever maybe the amount thereof, shall be divided among my children Alice Johnson, Thomas Bentley, Susan Fisher, Nancy Haslam, Molly Greenhalgh, Michael Bentley, Richard Bentley & their heirs share and share alike. I also direct that the children of my son James Bentley now deceased & their heirs, shall have a child's portion as above mentioned & also that the children of my daughter Peggy Kirkham now deceased & their heirs shall have a child's portion as above mentioned, share & share alike.

I do hereby nominate & appoint my wife Susan Bentley & my son Michael Bentley to be my executors of this my last will & testament.

In witness whereof I the said testator Thomas Bentley have hereunto set my hand & seal this fourth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & ten.
