In the Name of God Amen I WILLIAM
BECKWITH of Lambhill in the parish of Masham in the County of York
being of sound disposing mind and memory and understanding do make
Publish and declare my last will and testament as follows First I
will that all my just debts and funeral exepnces be paid and
discharged Item to my Dear wife her executors administrators and
assigns I give and bequeath all my household furniture of what
nature or kind soever Item to my daughters MARY BECKWITH and
ELIZABETH BECKWITH and DOROTHY BECKWITH I give and bequeath the sum
of £500 a piece to be paid at the end of twelve calendar months next
after my decease with interest of the same after the rate of 4 per
cent .... And in case my personal estate exclusive of my household
furniture shall not be sufficient to pay and satisfy the said debts
Funeral expences and Legacies of £500 a piece then I charge and make
chargeable all my messuages land tenements and hereditaments with
the payment of so much of the said debts and funeral expences and
legacies as aforesaid I give devise and bequeath to my daughters
CATHERINE TANFOLD and the said MARY BECKWITH, ELIZABETH BECKWITH and
DOROTHY BECKWITH .... all my personal estate the said household
furniture excepted and also all my messuages lands and tenements and
hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever to take as Tenants in
Commons and not as joint tenants And I make and constitute my dear
wife Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament revoking all
former wills ... In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this 10 December 1776
