In the Name of God Amen I JOHN BEAN of Hunton
in the parish of Hornby in the County of York yeoman being weak in
body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praise be therefore
given to Almighty God for the same do make and ordain this my
present Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is
to say First and Principally I commend my soul into the hands of
Almighty God hoping through the merits of the death and passion of
my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness
of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life and as touching the
disposition of all such Temporal Estate as it hath please God to
bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth.
Item I give and bequeath to my dear wife
KATHERINE BEAN my house wherein I now dwell and all the houseing and
the lands there unto belonging att Hunton and also all my lands at ?Skotton?
and letten to RICHARD CARTER the tenant. Likewise all my lands and
houseing in Walden now in the possession of BENJAMIN BROCKHALL the
tenant all these three parcels of land and houseing I give to my
dear Wife KATHERINE BEAN during her natural life. I also give my
dear Wife all my household goods whatsoever and my two cows to
dispose of as she thinks good.
Item I give to ELIANOR EDWARDS of Burniston to
be paid out of my personal estate £5.
Item I give to BENJAMIN BROCKHALL £10 to be
paid out of my personal estate.
Item I give to JANE daughter of HENRY
GREATHEAD and JANE BRITAIN daughter of JOHN BRITAIN of Doncaster all
the rest of my personal estate they paying my debts and funeral
charges and I make them two JANE the daughter of HENRY GREATHEAD and
JANE BRITAIN them two lawful and sole executrixes of this my last
will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal 29 November 1743
