mackerfeild within the Countye of Lancaster yeoman feacinge
Deathe because of nature, doe ordeigne Constitute & make this my
last will and testament in mannor and forme fowllnige first I
committ my soule unto my Redeemer Jesus Christ by whose death
and passion I beleive to be saved And my Terestall bodye to be
buryed at my p’she Churche or Churche yorde of Winwick Theire to
Remayne in the Besume of the earth untill yt shall please god to
rayse it upp in the last daye And to Endowe yt w’th immortallyty
And for suchegoods as god hethe given mee the use and Custume of
I will thus dispose them as fowllowes & Also I will That all
suche debts and deuties as I owe of right or Conscyence to any
p’son or p’sons to be well and traelye Contented and payde by
myne Executor hereafter named Item I give and bequethe unto
Thomas Baxter my sonn Three score poundes and Towe fether bedde
w’th there furnytur Item I will that my sonn Thomas shall have
twentye pewter dishes Item yt ys my myndee that my sonn Thomas
shall have theise bedde and the pewter dyshes when his pretshe
ys upp Item I will that my grand Child Charles shall have
twentye shillings Item I give and bequethe unto Ann my grand
Child twentye shillings Item I give and bequethe unto Ellen my
grabd Childe twentye Item I will that all my debtes nad theise
legasyes and my funerall Expences shall be dyscharged and payed
out of the whole of my goods and Chattells Item I will That the
Resydeue of ... goods and Chattells shalbe equally devyded into
towe p’tes Item I give unto Ellen my wyf... one halfe goods
and Chattells And to my sonn Richard the other halfe Item I
will th...... my dwellinge house w’th all my other buldings
whatsoev’r shall bee equallye devyded into towe p’tes betweene
my wyfe and Richard my sonn Item I will that my wyfe shall have
the upper ane yt the dwellinge house Item I will that all my
land and tacts of ground shalbee equally devyded in towe p’tes

ground to my wyfe during her naturall lyfe And the other halfe
To Richard my sonn Item I give unto ev’rye Child that I am god
father to 12d Item I give unto Ann Kerfoote my servant tenn
shillings Item I give unto Ales Rothwell daughter of John
Rothwell three shillings foure pence Item I give unto the
repairnige of Newton Chappell fourtie shillings Item I request
Richard Baxter of Lowton and Mathew Eden and Robert Eden of
Newton to bee feofyes in trust and over Rewllers of suche goods
as I have given my sonn Thomas untill his prentishipp beeupp and
theye to receive everye yeare twentye pounds untill three score
pounds .....upp Item I ordeigne Constitute and make Richard
Baxter my sonn my Treue Lawfull Executor And I request Richard
Baxter of Lowton and Mathew Eden ye..... newton to bee over
seeres of this my last will and Testament to see yt truelye
