In the Name of God Amen I Robert Battrick of
Bere Regis in the County of Dorset Yeoman, being weak of body, but
of perfect mind and sound of memory thanks be given unto God for the
same and calling to Mind the Mortality of my Body, knowing that it
is appointed for all men once to Dye Do make and ordain this my last
Will and Testament (that is to say)ffirst and principally I Give and
recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God hopeing through the
Meritts of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full & free pardon &
forgiveness of all my Sins & to inheritt Everlasting Life And my
body I comitt to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion
of my Executor herein after named And as touching the Disposition of
all such Temporall Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I
give and dispose thereof as followes that is to say ffirst that a
True Inventory be taken of all my wearing apparell ready Money
Household goods & of all other my goods & Chattells whatsoever &
that out of the same my debts & funerall charges be paid &
discharged And as to the Residue thereof after payment of my Debts &
funerall Charges I will that my dear Wife Elizabeth Battrick shall
have the Use of such Residue of the same for and dureing the Term of
her Naturall life Also after the Decease of my said Wife I give &
bequeath all my Goods & Chattells whatsoever (save so much thereof
as shall be laid out in paymt of my Debts & funeral charges as
aforesaid) unto my Son Robert Battricke he paying to his Brothers
Edward Battricke and John Battricke the Sume of Twenty pounds a
piece within six Monethes after my Decease Provided alwayes That if
my Son Robert Battricke shall not pay to the said Edward Battricke &
John Battricke who are also my Sons the sd Legacy of Twenty pounds a
piece in the time aforesaid Then I give all my Goods & Chattells afd
save as aforesd after the decease of my wife to my soans Edward &
John equally to be divided between them And I Do make the sd Robert
Battrick Exor of this my will In Witness whereof I have hereunto
sett my hand & seale the fourth day of August 1736 Robert Battrick
