In the Name of God Amen the 9th day of July
one thousand seven hundred and Eight according to the Computation of
the Church of England I Robert Battrick Senior of Corfe Castle being
of perfect memory and remembrance praised be God Doe make and
ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme
following ffirst I bequeath my Soul to God my maker hoping thorow
the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only saviour
and Redeemer to receive free pardon for all my Sins And as for my
Body to be buried in Christian burial at the discretion of my
Executor here after mentioned Item I give to my Son George one
shilling and likewise to my daughter Perrin one shilling and to
Georges Children one shilling apiece and to my Daughter Perrins
Children One Shilling apiece and as for all things else that is to
say my Goods now lying at beer and at Corfe Castle with all my Goods
and money and shopp debts all whatsoever I give and bequeath to my
Son Robert Battrick upon Condition that he shall pay all my debts
and Legacies and whereas I give George Poape ffifty pounds on my
lease ground alsoe but if my Son George pays half the money then my
desire is that my Son George should enjoy half the rent or proffits
that shall come their two Lives and my desire is that they should
live like Christian Brethren and let the Estate between them and as
for my Shopp and ffront of my house with warehouses and Stable and
fuell house it is my Son Georges due with part of the Garden this
being my last Will and Testament Revokeing all other Wills and
