In the Name of God Amen I Rebecca Batten
of the Parish of Road in the County of Somerset being of a sound
disposing Mind Memory and Understanding but considering the
Uncertainty of Life do make this my last Will and Testament in
manner following In the first place I direct my just Debts and
ffuneral Expences shall be paid by my Executor herein after
named I give and bequeath unto my Sister Ann Barnes the Sum of
One hundred Pounds to be paid twelve Months after my decease I
give and bequeath unto my loving Brother Henry Batten the Sum of
ffifty Pounds to be paid twelve Months after my decease I give
and bequeath unto my loving Brother Edward Batten the like Sum
of ffifty Pounds to be paid twelve Months after my decease I
give and bequeath unto my loving Brother John Batten the
Interest of One hundred Pounds during his natural life to
commence Six Months after my decease and from and immediately
after his decease to my loving Brothers Henry Batten and Edward
Batten the said hundred Pounds to be equally divided between
them I give and bequeath unto my loving Sister Alice Pool the
Interest of One hundred Pounds during her natural life to
commence Six Months after my decease and from and immediately
after her decease I give the said hundred Pounds unto her three
Children (that is to say)John Pool, Thomas Pool and Alice Pool
to be equally divided between them I give and bequeath unto my
Niece Alice Pool all my Wearing Apparel to be delivered at the
discretion of my Executor herein after named All the Rest and
Residue of my Goods and Chattels and Personal Estate I give and
bequeath unto my loving Brother Henry Batten whom I constitute
and appoint Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the 12th
day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred
and Sixty one Rebecca Batten
