In the name of God Amen
This is the last Will and
Testament of Wm Bassett of ye Town of Neath in ye County
of Glamorgan Esqr I give and devise to my dear Wife
Jane Bassett all that part of my Estates in ye county of
Glamorgan which I have settled on her before marriage to hold to
her and her heirs for ever I give and devise to my brother
Thomas Bassett and his heirs for ever all ye Residue of my
real Estates in ye County aforesaid I also give and devise
between my Brother and Sisters all my Real Estates in ye
County of Brecon to hold to them and their Heirs for ever as
Tenants in Common I give and devise between my Sisters my
Leasehold Estates in ye County of Glamorgan to hold to them and
their Assigns as Tenants in Common during the Terms to me
thereof granted I also give my dear Wife all ye Rest and
Residue my Personal Estate and appoint her Executrix of my Will
hereby revoking all former Wills In Witness whereof I have
hereto set my Hand and Seal ye 8th of March 1794
Wm Bassett Signed Sealed and delivered by the Testator as
his Will in our Presence who set our names as Witnesses in his
Presence and in ye Presence of each other Benj Howell Willm

I William Bassett
do ordain and publish this Writing as and for a Codicil to my
last Will I do hereby charge all my Real Estates in ye County of
Brecon with ye payment of two thousand pounds of lawful money
which I hereby give to my dear Wife Jane Bassett with
this alteration I confirm my last Will in Testimony whereof I
have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the 22nd day of
March 1796 Wm Bassett Signed sealed and delivered by the
Testator as a Codicil to his last Will in our Presence who set
our names in his Presence and in the presence of each other

This Will was proved at
London with a Codicil the sixteenth day of November in the Year
of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six before the
Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master
Keeper or Commissary of the prerogative Court of Canterbury
lawfully constituted by the Oath of Jane Bassett Widow
the Relict of the Deceased and sole Executrix named in the said
Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the
Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been
first sworn by commission duly to administer |
