The Will of John Barrow

 

In the Name of God Amen I John Barrow Mariner on board of her Maj’ies shipp St George being weake in Body but of sound and perfect memory Doe make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) ffirst I bequeath my Soul into the hands of God Almighty who gave it and my Body to the Deep And as touching the disposall of all such temporall Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow on me I give and bequeath as followes I doe hereby make and appoint my loveing Brother James Barrow my Sole Heir Giving and bequeathing unto him All such wages and paym as now is or shall become due to me for my service on board the said shipp St George or any other as alsoe such other and further allowances of money as shall or ought to arise or become due unto me according to the custome of the Navy or short allowance money and prize money together with all goods and moveables whatsoever In Witness whereof I the said John Barrow to this last Will and Testament have set my hand and seale this seventh Day of September In the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and ffour John Barrow
