The Will of Mary Barrett

 

In the Name of God Amen This Thirteenth day of July in the 12 year of our Sovereign George by the grace of God King of Great Britain etc In the year of our Lord 1726 I Mary Barrett Widow of Hook Norton in the County of Oxon aforesaid being sick and weake but of a sound and perfect mind do make this my last Will and Testament praised be Almighty God First I do recommend my soul up into the hands of Almighty God with a full pardon of all my sins Throe meritts of Jesus Christ my only saviour and redeemer as to my worldly estate which it hath pleased God to bless me withall I do hereby dispose in manner and form following and my Will is if it should please God that I should do noe other ways then well that my body may be Interred in the parish Church or Churchyard In Hooknorton in the said County near to my Husband Richard Barrett lately deceased att the discretion of my executors here mentioned Mr Thomas Dane of Steeple Aston in the
County of Oxon aforesaid and Mr John Barrett of Banbury Carrier of the said County being both my Brothers doe Ordaine and Constitute them both my Executors of this my last Will and Testament as to Estate goods and Chattells I do dispose in manner and forme following as to my Free Estate I desire that it may be Ordered to breed up my Children untill my son John Barrett do come of age Item my Will is that my Waggon and horses Stock and Crop and all other Implements may be sold att the discretion of my Executors for the use of my four daughters Item my Will that my said Executors do give my son John Barrett five shillings Item my Will is that all my household goods linnen and aparell be all equally divided amongst my 4 daughters In Witness I have hereunto sett my hand and seale as being my last Will and Testament as to the day and year as above written my desire is that my son John Barrett may have all his fathers Cloaths
