The Will of Richard Barker
This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard
Barker of Messingham in the County of Lincoln Farmer which I make with a
sound and disposing mind memory and understanding as follows hereby
revoking and making void all former and other will and wills by me at
any time heretofore made In the first place I devise that all my just
debts and funeral expences be paid and discharged by my Executor I make
my son George Barley my sole Executor of all money or securities for
money farming stock household furniture goods and cattles personal
estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind
soever the same may be In the first place I give to all poor widows and
widowers in Messingham one pound each Allso I give ten pounds to ten
poor labours one pound each as my Executor thinks has most need those to
be paid soon after my decease in the next place I give to my cousin Mary
Colly of Kinton fifty pounds and to my cousin Thomas Websters children
that are living fifty pounds each I allso give to Richd Barley of
Waddlesthorpe fifty pounds I allso give to Stephen Charles fifty pounds
and allso to Robt Marshal sen: fifty pounds in the next palce I give to
my old servant Joseph Clark fifty pounds and also I give to my
housekeeper Ann Barley fifty pounds and to my servant Henry Dunderdale
thirty pounds I now give fifty pounds to the Bible Society and I give
one hundred pounds to the Foreign Missionaries in the place I give eight
pounds towards Seafaring Chapel Debt I declare this to be my last Will
and Testament contained in these two sheets of paper having set my hand
and seal to both this day of our Lord June 11th 1850_ Richard Barker
