The Will of Amey Barfoot


This is the last Will and Testament of me Amey Barfoot of Husbands Bosworth in the County of Leicester Widow as follows (that is to say) I give and bequeath all my Wearing Apparel Plate Linen and China unto my sisters Esther Betts Ann Underwood and Mary Horsepool to be equally divided between them share and share alike And also all my household goods other goods bees Bedding Vessells Dairy Utensils Stock monies securities for money & Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not hereinbefore disposed of and after paying thereout all my just debts funeral and testamentary Expences I give and bequeath the same as follows (that is to say) one equal seventh part thereof the whole into seven equal parts to be divided unto the children of my late brother William Everett deceased one other equal seventh part thereof unto my Brother Robert Everett one other equal seventh part thereof unto my said sister Esther Betts one other equal seventh part unto my said sister Ann Underwood one other equal seventh part unto my said sister Mary Horsepool one other equal seventh part unto the Children of my late brother John Everett deceased to be equally divided amongst them share and share alike and the other equal seventh part thereof unto the children of my late Brother James Everett deceased to be equally divided amongst them share and share alike And I declare my will to be that in case any of the Legatees named in or intended to take under this my will shall die in my lifetime the legacy or share of him her or them so dying shall not lapse thereby but the same shall go to the Children of him her or them so dying if more than one in equal shares and if but one of them wholly to him or her such Children or Child to take the same share his her or their Parent or Parents would have taken under this my Will so living And lastly I constitute and appoint my said Brother Robert Everett and my Nephew William Everett son of my late brother William Everett Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witnness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one Amey Barfoot

I Amey Barfoot the aforesaid testatrix do now make the following alteration to this my said Will and Testament that is to say that the portion or share hereinbefore bequeathed unto my said Sister Esther Betts I do now appoint and determine that the said trustees hereinbefore named their Executors or Administrators shall and may vest or put out the same on good security and the interest only arising and accruing therefrom shall be paid unto my said Sister Esther Betts for and during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease I give and bequeath the principal of the said portion to the sons and daughters of my said sister to be equally divided amongst them all In Witness hereof I the said Amey Barfoot the testatrix have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty first Day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty Amey Barfoot

Proved at London with a codicil 26 Octoebr 1837 before the Judge by the oath of William Everett the nephew the surviving Executor to whom admon was granted having been first sworn by Common only to admin
