In the name of God Amen I William Avern of the Parish of Aston near Birmingham in the County of Warwick Carpenter being weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding (praised by God for the same) do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say, I will and direct that all my just debts funeral expences and the charges of proving this my will be fully paid and satisfied out of my personal Estate and subject thereto I Give and bequeath All my Household Goods and Implements of Household Stock in trade Book debts and all other my Personal Estate of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever that I may be any ways possessed of at the time of my decease unto and to the use of my wife Mary Avern to hold and enjoy the same for and during the term of her natural life she my said Wife maintaining and supporting my two Children Jane Avern and Susannah Avern And from and after my said Wife’s decease I give and bequeath the remainder of my said Household Goods, Stock in Trade Debts and effects, if any there should be, to be applied to and for the support and maintenance of my said Daughter Jane during her life And from and after the death of my said Wife and my said Daughter Jane I give and bequeath the surplus, if any, unto and amongst my surviving Children share and share alike And I do hereby make and appoint my said Wife and my son in law Thomas Whitehouse Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said William Avern have hereunto set my hand and seal this Seventeenth day of May in the Year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen Wm Avern
