In the Name of God Amen I MARY ATKINSON of
Kirby Fleetham in the County of York spinster being of sound mind
and perfect memory thanks be to Almighty God I do make and ordain
this my last will and testament in manner and forme following that
is to say First I give up and surrender my soul into the hands of
Almighty God my Creator hoping through the meritorious Death and
Passion of my ever blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to have
and receive free and full pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and
my body I committ to the earth to be decently buried at the
discretion of my executor hereinafter named and as to the
Disposition of my worldly Estate where with all it hath pleased
Almighty God to bless me I give and dispose thereof as follows.
First my mind and will is that all my debts which I shall owe unto
any person or persons at the time of my decease shall be truly paid
and satisfied , allso my further mind and will is and I do give
devise and bequeath unto my Father HENRY ATKINSON of Kirby Fleetham
miller the interest of £100 for and during his natural life. Also I
give and bequeath unto my Mother MARY ATKINSON the Interest of one
other £100 for and during the term of her natural life and when
either of them the said HENRY ATKINSON and MARY ATKINSON shall die
then I order the survivor to have the interest of both ... for and
during his or her Life Except my said father HENRY ATKINSON be
survivor and marry again then I order the payment of the interest ..
shall cease .. then I give and devise and bequeath the said £200 to
the poor of the Township of Bedale in the said County of York. The
which I order shall be laid out in land or placed out upon good
security by and in the name of the Rector and Church Wardens of
Bedale ... and shall be distributed annually amongst the Poor of
Bedale ... and lastly I do hereby revoke all other will or wills by
me at any time made ... and appoint my said Father HENRY ATKINSON
sole Executor I the said MARY ATKINSON the Testator have hereby set
my hand and seal 7 July 1759
