The Will of Christopher Atkinson

 

In the Name of God Amen I CHRISTOPHER ATKINSON of the parish of Middleham in the County of York being sicke in body but of perfect mind thanks be to God doe make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme following. Imprimis I bequeath my soule unto the hands of God Almighty my most merciful Creator haveing by the Precious Death and passion of Jesus Christ my onely saviour to obtaine everlasting life and Salvation, and for my body to be committ to Christian buriall according to the descretion of my executor after named. Secondly my will is and I doe give unto ANN ATKINSON my grandchild all my household goods after the death of my wife and £10 to goe on for her use from the time of my death.

Item I give unto the rest of my grandchildren CHRISTOPHER ATKINSON, THOMAS ATKINSON and RICHARD ATKINSON £10 a peece to be paid as they shall attaine the age of 20 years.

Item I give unto my sister KATHERINE ATKINSON as a legacie the sum of 10 shillings.

Item I give unto my nephew SAGER and neece SAGER being att Askrigg the sum of 10 shillings a peece as a legacy.

Item my will and pleasure is and I doe constitute and ordaine THOMAS ATKINSON my sonne executor of this my Last Will and Testament whereunto I have set my hand and seal this 14 February 1666 (1667)
