The Will of Anne Arnold

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Anne Arnold of Beachworth in the County of Surrey Widow as follows And first I recommend my Soul to Almighty God my maker in hopes of a joyful resurrection thro’ the alone merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour and as for my boy I desire that the same may be buryed at Beachworth as near my late husband Mr Richard Arnold as may be And as for such Temporal Estate as God hath been pleased to bless me I dispose thereof as follows (that is to say) Whereas I have borrowed of my Daughter Anne Arnold the sume of six hundred pounds and I have secured the same with Interest by a security or Surrender made to her my said Daughter of all that my Messuage or Tenement called the new house of Beachworth aforesaid with the severall Lands and Hereditaments thereunto belonging and now in my Possession which said Premises are Copyhold within the Mannor of East Beachworth in the said County of Surry Now I do hereby give devise and bequeath all my said Copyhold Messuage or Tenement Lands Hereditaments and Premises with the Appurtenances to my said Daughter Anne Arnold her heirs and Assignes in satisfaction of the said sume of six hundred pounds so secured to her as aforesaid Item I give to my eldest Son Richard Arnold my pair of Silver Candlesticks and such of my two Diamond Rings as he shall Choose and my other Diamond Rings I give to my Son Thomas Arnold Item I give to my Granddaughter Mary Arnold Daughter of my said Son Thomas Arnold my Gold Watch Item I give to my Cozen Mrs Anne Arnold Wife of my Cozen Mr Thomas Arnold of ffryley my Silver Coffee Pott Item I give to my Godson Williams Simonds my Silver Salver Item I give to my Cozens Mary James and Rebeccah Arnold such of my Cloaths and Wearing Apparel as my Executrix hereinafter named shall think fit And all the rest residue and remainder of  my Estate both real and Personal (Subject to the Payment of my Debts and such of my late Husband’s Book Debts as Still remain unpaid) I give devise and bequeath to my said Daughter Anne Arnold & her heirs Executors Administrators and Assignes And I do herebt name sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Anne Arnold have hereunto set my hand and seal this Seventh day of March One Thousand Seven hundred and Thirty ffour And in the Eighth Year of the reign of our sovereign Lord King George the Second Anne Arnold
