The Will of George Armstrong

 

I, George Armstrong of No 44 Alma Place North Shields in the County of Northumberland, Gentleman hereby revoke all former wills codicils and testamentary instruments made by me and declare this to be my last will I devise and bequeath all the estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever, both real and personal to which I may be entitled or which I may have power to dispose of at my decease unto and to the use of my dear wife Ann Armstrong her heirs executors and administrators respectively absolutely; trusting that my said wife will at her death leave one moiety of what may then remain of my estate as follows namely:- one equal eighth part of such moiety to my niece Margaret Scott of No 48 Waterloo Place North Shields, one other equal eighth part of such moiety to my niece Isabella Boye at present residing in Sydney New South Wales, one other equal eighth part of such moiety to the children of my late sister Isabella Laidman and their issue, five equal sixteenth parts of such  moiety to the children of my late sister Grace Eliza Detchon and their issue and the remaining five equal sixteenth parts of such moiety to the children of my late brother Thomas Watson Armstrong and their issue but I declare that the foregoing expression of my confidence shall not abridge the absolute ownership of my said wife or create any trust or equity in favour of the aforesaid persons or any of them And I appoint my said wife Sole Executrix of this my will In witness whereof I the said George Armstrong have to this my will set my hand this third day of May One thousand nine hundred and seven –

Signed by the above named George Armstrong as his last Will in the presence of us present at the same time who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.-

On the 24th day of August 1914, Probate Of this Will was granted at Newcastle Upon Tyne to Ann Armstrong Widow, [the?] sole Executrix.
