This is the last Will
and Testament of me
Sarah Applebee of Dedham
in the County of Essex,
single woman
First I give and
bequeath unto William
Bentley Crathern of
Dedham aforesaid all
monies due to me at my
death in trust for the
use of my Brother
Edward Applebee of
Witham in the County
of Essex: and I will
that the said William
Bentley Crahern will pay
my Brother Edward
Applebee whatsoever he
pleases and at such
times as shall appear to
him most for the
advantage of my brother
and his family.
Also I desire my
household furniture may
be sold after my decease
and the money given to
my brother after paying
my funeral expenses
Also I give my linen and
wearing apparel to
William Bentley Crathern
in trust for the use of
my Brother to be given
at the discretion of my
Executor
Also I give and bequeath
to William Bentley
Crathern the sum of ten
pounds of lawful money
of Great Brittain over
and above his reasonable
expences for his trouble
in the execution of this
my Will
And lastly, I do
nominate and appoint
Executor of this my Will
the above mentioned
William Bentley Crathern
In
witness whereof I the
said Sarah Applebee the
Testatrix have to this
my last Will and
Testament set my hand
and seal this first day
of February in the year
of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and ninety
six

to the due performance
thereof And that to the
best of his knowledge
and belief the amount of
the value of the goods
chattels and credits of
the deceased is under
the sum of three hundred
pounds

The Testatrix died and
was buried in the
parish of Dedham about
the 28th
Febry 1796
Proved on the 26th
April 1796 before the
Reverend Robert Storry
Clk Surrogate and by the
oath of William Bentley
Crathern the sole
Executor, to whom
Administration was
granted he being first
sworn duly to
