The Will of Thomas Anstee

 

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Anstee of Swanbourne in the County of Bucks Blacksmith being weak in Body but of a Sound and perfect mind and memory praise be Almighty God for the Dame Doe make and Ordaine this my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (Vizt) first and principally I Comend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker Assuredly hoping through the merritts of Death and Passion of our Blessed saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and remission of all my Sins an to inheritt everlasting life and my Body I Comitt to the Earth to be buried in Such decent manner as my Executor herein after named shall think convenient And as concerning my Temporall Estate both real and personall I Give and dispose thereof as followeth

Impris I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Son John Anstee and his heires all those my several parcells of arable Land and Sweard ground hereafter mentioned lyeing and being in the parish of Swanbourne aforesaid (Vizt) Two half Yards at a place called or known by the name of Hocombe one yard near Aylesbury Way the Land of John Gilbert lyeing on the West part thereof one Ley of Sweard gound att Alfields the Land of Thomas Brickwell lyeing on the East & West part thereof my Lott Hedge at a place called Swenshome and alsoe Two Sheepe Commons an half or Cows Comon which I purchased of William King with their and every of their Appurtenances unto him the said John Anstee my Son and his heires and Assignes for ever Item I Give Devise and Bequeath unto William Anstee my Son and to his heires and Assignes for ever All that my Messuage or Tenemt wherein I now dwell Situate in Swanbourne aforesd Together with all houses Outhouses Edifices Buildings Barnes Stables Yards Orchards Gardens and Backsides thereunto belonging and all other my Freehold Lands Tenemts and Hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever with their and every of their Appurtenances not herein before given Devised and Bequeathed I doe Give Devise and Bequeath unto the Said William Anstee my Son his heires and Assignes for ever Item all my Goods Chattells and personall Estate whatsoever my Debts and funeral Charges being paid and Discharged I Doe Give and Bequeath unto the Said William Anstee my Son whome I do make constitute and Appoint full and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and I doe hereby revoke and make void all former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made In Witness whereof

I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Second day of May in the Third year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lor George the second over Great Brittain Annoq Dom 1730
