The Will of Joseph Anning

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Joseph Anning of Lyme Regis in the County of Dorset upholsterer made and declared as follows I give to my wife Amelia Anning all my household goods and furniture wearing apparel plate linen china glass and books jewellery and trinkets absolutely to and for her own use and to be at her disposal And I appoint her my said wife Amelia Anning and James Wood Marder of Lyme Regis aforesaid Druggist Executrix and Executor of this my Will I give devise and bequeath All that my freehold dwellinghouse and premises called Pyne House situate in Broad Street in Lyme Regis And also all the Residue of my Estate whether real or personal unto the said James Wood Marder To hold the same to him the said James Wood Marder his heirs executors administrators and assigns Upon trust to permit and suffer my said Wife Amelia Anning to receive and take the rents interest and produce thereof for and during so long time as she shall remain my Widow and unmarried And from and after her decease or marriage again Then upon trust to pay and apply the rents interest and produce thereof for and towards the education and maintenance of my children Charles Churchill Anning Frederick Anning and Albert Anning and any other child that may be born in due time after my decease until the youngest of them shall attain the age of twenty one years And when and so soon (after the decease or marriage again of my said Wife) as the youngest of them my said Children shall attain the age of twenty one years Then I give devise and bequeath All my estate both real and personal to them my said children share and share alike as Tenants in common their heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever The issue of any deceased child or children to take his her or their deceased Parents share And if all my said children should die under the age of twenty one years and without issue Then I give devise and bequeath All such real and personal estate (after the death or marriage again of her my said Wife) Unto Herbert Reeder of Marshwood in the said County of Dorset (brother of my said Wife) his heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever according to the respective natures and qualities thereof In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this sixteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine Joseph Anning
