In the Name of God Amen I Lydia Allsopp of
Oxton in the County of Nottingham Spinster Do make publish and
declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner
following (that is to say) I give and bequeath unto my brother
Luke Allsopp of Oxton aforesaid Gentleman his heirs executors
and administrators All and every my ready money and securities
for money goods chattels Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever
and wheresoever Subject nevertheless to the Payment of all my
just debts funeral and testamentary expences and of the payment
of the legacy or sum of fforty pounds each to the persons
hereinafter named which I direct to be paid at the expiration of
Twelve Calendar Months from the day of my decease or sooner if
convenient to my said brother (that is to say) Thomas Elizabeth
Maria and Mary being the son and daughters of my late brother
Thomas Allsopp deceased Lott Luke M... Matilda and Maria being
the sons and daughters of my late brother William Allsopp
deceased William Thomas John Luke Charles Lydia and Hannah being
the sons and daughters of my late sister Hannah Buxton deceased
Mary Ann Harriet Lydia and Charlotte being the daughters of my
said brother Luke And I declare that in case the said Thomas the
son of my said Brother Thomas be now dead I give his share or
legacy under this my Will to his eldest Son being my Great
Nephew And I also declare that the receipt or receipts of such
of the above named Legatees as shall be married shall be good
and sufficient discharge and discharges for the said legacy or
legacies without requiring the signature of their respective
husbands And for the better execution of this my Will I declare
that the receipt or receipts of my said brother Luke his heirs
executors or administrators shall be a good and sufficient
discharge and discharges to any persons paying ..... him or
them under this my Will for so much money as in such receipt or
receipts shall or expressed to have been received and that the
person or persons paying such monies and taking such receipt or
receipts shall not be obliged to see to the further application
or be answerable for the misapplication of such monies and I
nominate ordain and appoint my said brother Luke sole Executor
of this my last Will and Testament and hereby revoking all
former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made In
Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this
fifteenth day of July in the Year of Our Lord One thousand eight
hundred and thirty five Lydia Allsopp
