This is the Last Will and Testament of me
MARGARET BRODERICK of Spring End near Reeth in the County of York
spinster.
I give and devise my Freehold close of land
called Walton Close situate at Whitaside in the parish of Grinton in
the County of York with all common and other rights and
appurtenances ... unto and to the use of my nephews LONSDALE
BRODERICK, LUTHER BRODERICK, GEORGE BRODERICK and EDWARD BRODERICK
as joint tenants ...
I give and devise my Copyhold cottage with
appurtenances situate at Low Row in the township of Melbecks in the
County of York unto and to the use of my neice ANN ELIZABETH
CLARKSON ... according to the custom of the Manor ....
I give and bequeath my horse and dog cart to
my said neices ANN ELIZABETH CLARKSON
I give and bequeath the legacy of £100 each to
my neices ANN BRODERICK, MARY BRODERICK and HANNAH BRODERICK to be
paid at the expiration of six calendar months after my decease out
of the sum of £620 due to me out of the Summer Lodge Estate.
I give and bequeath £1,000 to my Executors and
Trustess hereafter named upon Trust to invest the same at interest
.... and to pay the income arising to my said neice ANN ELIZABETH
CLARKSON during her life.
And upon her decease I direct that the said
sum shall be held in Trust for all and every the children or child
of the said ANN ELIZABETH CLARKSON....
I give and devise and bequeath all the residue
and remainder of my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever
and wheresoever unto my said neice ANN ELIZABETH CLARKSON absolutely
charged with the payment of my just debts and funeral and
testamentary expenses and I appoint my said neice ANN ELIZABETH
CLARKSON and my nephew LONSDALE BRODERICK joint Executors and
Trustees of this my will.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto signed my
name this 7 June 1890

Codicil of Margaret Broderick of Spring End
near Reeth in County of York spinster.
Whereas by my said will after certain devises
and bequests I have given devised and bequeathed all the residue and
remainder of my real and personal estate and effects .... unto my
neice ANN ELIZABETH CLARKSON . Now I hereby revoke such residuary
bequest so far only as relates to my household furniture, pictures,
silver, glass, china, linen and other household effects. And I
hereby give and bequeath the same household effects unto my neice
ANN ELIZABETH CLARKSON for and during her life only. And upon her
decease I give and bequeath the same unto and equally amongst my
three neices ANN BRODERICK, MARY BRODERICK and HANNAH BRODERICK.
