Birth, Marriage and Death Indexes 1837-2004

Welcome to the Miscellaneous Documents section of this site.

I have called this the Miscellaneous Documents Page,

as this is where we can share many different types of documents, that can be useful to us in researching our ancestors.

These could be Apprenticeship Indentures, Military Records, Baptism Details, and any other documents that we may have,

(but Please No BMD Certs or Census Details), it would be nice for this section to grow into a great collection of useful documents.

Please  if you you have some documents that you would like to place on this page to share with others.

Please don't forget to make a visit to the Poor Law Records Section of the site, as there are even more very interesting and helpful

documents to view, which can be so useful in our research for our family ancestors.

Best Wishes to you all, Peter

I have a copy of the case file for Louis Moroni.

He was convicted of Conspiracy to Violate Bankruptcy Laws.

He was sentenced on 24 Jun 1929 and started serving his term on 25 Jun 1929.

From the 1920 US Census, he is enumerated as Louey Morrin, living in Johnston City IL. Looking at the actual image,

he is living in Herrin IL with his wife Sadie and children Joe, Frank, Louis, Eugene, Edith and Jesse.

I also found and have an obit for his son Frank.

This obit clarifies that the Louey Moroni I found in the 1920 US Census, is the correct person.

The obit also lists his mother as Santina Rocassi.

From Stafford Prison Records

Ann Stanton aged 40 (1787) Stafford 1827.2 vs inhabitants of the county of Stafford, judge; earl Talbot, Robbery - theft of cutlery, 6 mnths prison and hard labour.

George Stanton. Stone 1793.1 vs Sarah Deakin, judge; John Jervis, Sex offence – Bastardy, committed, notes – want of sureties

In October 1866 Samuel Stanton, one of the prison warders, who with his wife and a friend, a photographer named Lapworth, had been returning to Stafford from Cheadle, in a horse and trap, was injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided with another in the dark (at Acton) near Stone. Bothe the Stantons were thrown to the ground by the force of the impact, Samuel sustaining injury to the head and spine and for some time after the accident was delirious, his condition giving cause for anxiety. It was not reported why Stanton, his wife and their photographer friend had travelled to Cheadle but in September 1871 Stanton's daughter Mary then aged 25 died at Cheadle. Reported in the Staffordshire advertiser 6th October 1866 and 2nd September 1871. Retired as a Chief warder at the Midsummer quarter sessions of 1877 receiving a yearly pension of £65 7s 4d.

Taken from A J Stanley's History of Stafford Gaol

John Stanton debtor signed a petition with other debtors in Stafford Gaol asking that wives & children be permitted into the Castle (Gaol?).
dated 11th - 1803 Stafford Castle

William Stanton formerly of West Bromwich, late of Tipton, nailer asked for releases from debtors prison along with others.
