Dear Mlle,

                                    Mary Ann SIDDLE – deceased

 

            As sole executor of the above I have to inform you that probate was granted to me at Durham on the 22nd February last.

 

            You are a beneficiary under the will, the following being the relevant extract

 

            “I give devise and bequeath absolutely one twenty ninth thereof to Stanley BUSBY grandson of my late sister Elizabeth BUSBY  Ten twenty ninths part thereof to be equally divided amongst the surviving children of my late sister Elizabeth BUSBY

Eight twentyninths part thereof to be equally divided amongst the surviving children of my late sister Jane HILLARY  Eight twentyninths part there-of to be equally divided amongst the survivors of my late husband’s nephew and nieces John George PEACOCK Jane RUTTER Margaret Eleanor PEACOCK and Hannah Elizabeth PEACOCK One twentyninth part thereof to

 my late husband’s great nephew Henry PEACOCK and One twentyninth part thereof to my late husband’s great niece Hannah PEACOCK children of my late husband’s late niece Mary Annie PEACOCK  In the event of the death of any beneficiary before my death leaving issue the share otherwise falling to such beneficiary under this will to be paid to such issue in equal parts 

My executor is to have full power of sale investment and re-investment at his absolute discretion.”

            I also enclose a statement of the deceased’s affairs from which you will see that the amount available for distribution to the legatees is £806. 19. 1.

            As one of the surviving children of the late Jane HILLARY you are entitled to 2/29ths of the above sum and I therefore enclose cheque for £55. 13. 1.,  and I shall be glad if you will kindly acknowledge receipt of same to me on the receipt form enclosed.
